Making Butter!
We had lots of fun in history learning about farming in the past, we even had a real butter churn and milking stool in our classroom. For our science lesson we made butter using jars and cream. John brought in some honey from his Grandad's beehive. We really enjoyed tasting our efforts.

Easter
Junior and Senior Infants made Easter nests this week, we have also been busy learning about procedural writing so everyone wrote down the recipe after we had finished baking. As part of the Easter celebrations, we painted some colourful Easter Bunnies and took part in an Easter Egg hunt along with the rest of the school. We also read some funny stories called Bad Bunny, and The Great Eggscape. Here are some pictures of our work.
Floating and Sinking
During our science class, we were learning all about floating and sinking. We gathered some materials and a bowl of water and started experimenting. Before we carried out the experiment, we learned about estimating so we recorded our estimates before carrying out our tests like real scientists.
Happy Christmas 2020 from Junior & Senior Infants!!
Space
During the month of November, Junior & Senior Infants have been learning all about the theme 'Space'. We spent two weeks learning lots of fascinating facts about Space before we went into our Aistear stations. It was a very popular theme because it was so interesting and lots of fun! Over the two weeks we learned all about the solar system, astronauts and the first moon landing. We learned all about stars, the moon and the planets. We discussed what it would be like to be an astronaut in space, watched some YouTube clips of astronauts brushing their teeth and washing their hair. We read a very funny book called Aliens Love Underpants, The Loon on the Moon, Adam's Amazing Space Adventures and some interesting facts books in English and listed the top 10 things astronauts would need to bring to space. In our history lesson, we also learned about the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, and learned all about the crew in Apollo 11. We even wrote a short report about Space during our writing time on Friday. Have a look at our photos to see how much fun we are having!
