History
Seir Kieran’s National School is located at the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, overlooking the monastic site of St. Kieran. Our school is located in the parish of Seir Kieran, which is an island parish in the Diocese of Ossory.
Seir Kieran’s National School opened on the 8th September 1874.
In 1983 the original building was completely refurbished and an extension was added.
Work on our present extension commenced in August 2007 and we moved into our new state of the art premises in September 2008.This extension was officially opened and blessed on 8th May 2009.
