Sunday the 28th of January: Peace Proms Concert, Limerick.
Fáilte Romhaibh ar ais: All the boys and girls are very welcome back after the Christmas break. As we settle back into school after the Christmas break, we look forward to working with you in the very best interests of your children during 2024.
Swimming Lessons: Swimming lessons (Le Chéile) will start on Wednesday the 10th of January and will run for five Wednesdays. Swimming lessons (1st – 6th Class) will start on Thursday the 11th of January and run for five Thursdays. The cost per child is €40 and this can be paid before the end of February.
You are reminded of the following:
Enrolment: The school is now accepting applications for enrolment for the 2024/25 school year. Should you know people who wish to enroll their children, tell them to email the school at [email protected] with all relevant details and we will get back to them.
Christmas Show: This was a resounding success. The children were brilliant on the night. Míle buíochas to our staff and all those who worked so hard, to have everything in order on the night. Also, mile buíochas to all of you, for your generosity. Between donations and raffle tickets, €1344.80 was raised on the night.
Cycle Right Programme: Our senior classes (4th – 6th) will begin a 4 week ‘Cycle Right Programme’, tomorrow Tuesday the 9th of January. With roads being so busy and dangerous, the objective of this programme is to simply promote safe cycling practice amongst our children.
Cystic Fibrosis Christmas Jumper Fundraiser: On the 8th of December, we ran a Christmas Jumper Fundraiser to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. €271.20 was raised on the day. Cystic Fibrosis Ireland wishes to thank you for all your generosity.
Santa’s Visit: Míle buíochas to our Parents Association who organised Santa’s visit and the goodie bags for the boys and girls, on the last day of last term. Your efforts are much appreciated by all.
The School Celebrating 150 years in 2024: If you or if you know of anyone who may have special photographs or anything which may be relevant to Seir Kieran’s NS, over the past 150 years, please bring it into Gerardine in the office. A copy will be taken and the originals will be returned to you. You can alternatively send in photographs with your child, if you so wish, in an envelope, clearly marked with your name on photos, to be copied. Also, if you have names for people in the pictures or the year, please have these names and year written on the back of the photos. Your help with regard to this would be much appreciated.
Peace Proms: On Sunday the 28th of January, our 3rd – 6th class will take part in the Peace Proms concert in UL. This is a wonderful opportunity for all the children involved. We wish all involved the very best on the day. Further details with regard to the day, will issue nearer to the day.

- No shampoos, deodorants or gels are allowed.
- You are welcome in to view your child swimming. In the case of younger children, parents are encouraged to come to help their children change (if it is possible).
- While parents are welcome to view the children, parents are not permitted to enter the swimming pool deck.
- Should you be satisfied for another parent to help your child change (who may be in a position to attend), you must send in a note to the relevant class teacher setting out your permission in such a case.
- In the case of Thursday swimming, if you wish to collect your child from the pool, a short note in the journal must be sent in.
